The ancient city of Girona is less than an hour's drive from the wedding location. Known for its rich history and great food, Girona was also the film location for several Game of Thrones scenes (check out the website below for those details).
You will be flying into one of the most beautiful cities in the world, so of course spending a few days there is a great option.
Flights to these islands from Barcelona average about 40 euros each, so if you have more time in the area, this could be worth a visit. There are also ferries from Barcelona which you can take. The islands are very popular for tourism but late September is a great time, just past the summer vacation season while still getting to enjoy some warm weather!
